Affordable Connectivity Program

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more.

What is ACP?

Based on household income, ACP provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households.

Who is eligible for ACP?

Qualifying households meet several criteria:

  • You or your child/dependent participate in certain assistance programs, such as: Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program, SNAP, Medicaid, Federal Housing Assistance, SSI, WIC, or Veterans Pension or Survivor Benefits.
  • You received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year.

How do I Apply?

Eligible households must both apply for the program and contact a participating provider to select a service plan.

  • Go to GetInternet.gov to submit an application or print out a mail-in application.
  • Contact Fatbeam to select a plan and have the discount applied to your bill.
Need to recertify?

Recertification is an annual requirement. Use the ACP recertification link to start the process today.

Residential fiber internet is a high-speed internet service provided to homes using fiber optic technology. Fiber optic cables transmit data as light signals, allowing for much faster data transfer rates compared to traditional copper cables used in DSL or cable internet. This technology enables extremely high download and upload speeds and offers a more stable and reliable connection. Fiber internet is particularly beneficial for households with high bandwidth demands, such as streaming high-definition video, online gaming, and using multiple devices simultaneously.

Fiber internet in the home offers significant advantages over traditional broadband. It provides much higher speeds, enabling faster downloads, uploads, and streaming. Users benefit from consistent performance even during peak times, and the higher bandwidth capacity allows for multiple devices to be used simultaneously without a drop in speed. Additionally, fiber connections are more reliable, less prone to weather and electrical interference, and offer lower latency for real-time online activities like gaming and video calls.
