Position Summary
The OSP Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the OSP Engineering function across all markets. This role ensures high-quality, constructable, and scalable network designs aligned with company growth objectives. The OSP Engineering Manager drives accountability for design accuracy, timeliness, and standards compliance while building a high-performing engineering team. The position serves as the bridge between Engineering, Construction, and Leadership to ensure designs support predictable, efficient field execution. This role reports directly to the VP of OSP Construction.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and develop the OSP Engineering team, ensuring a high-performing, accountable group delivering quality, constructable designs.
· Establish clear performance expectations, accountability standards, and development plans.
· Build a culture of ownership, design discipline, and continuous improvement.
· Maintain visibility into all active design workloads, timelines, and resource capacity.
· Ensure designs meet company standards for quality, constructability, and cost efficiency.
· Drive accountability for engineering schedules aligned to construction targets.
· Review and improve design accuracy to reduce field rework and change orders.
· Escalate systemic design risks, capacity constraints, and quality gaps to leadership.
· Establish and maintain standardized engineering processes, documentation standards, and QA/QC controls.
· Identify and eliminate recurring design bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
· Define measurable KPIs for engineering throughput, quality, and predictability.
· Resolve cross-functional conflicts that impact schedule, cost, or design integrity.
· Provide leadership visibility into design pipeline health and future capacity needs.
Education and/or Experience, Certificates, Licenses Registrations
· 5+ years of progressive experience in OSP engineering, project management, and leading teams in the telecom industry
· In-depth knowledge of telecommunications construction practices, including both underground and aerial fiber deployment.
· Familiarity with industry standards and utility/pole attachment regulations, such as NESC, ANSI, and relevant pole attachment standards.
· Experience building and maintaining relationships with permitting authorities, municipalities, and utility entities.
· Proven ability to oversee complex design projects, ensuring constructability, cost efficiency, and alignment with operational goals.
· Strong technical judgment, with the ability to balance design accuracy, field execution efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
· Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication skills.
· Full-time salaried position; flexibility to work extended hours as needed.

Additional information
Fatbeam requires a background check and the acceptance of a basic non-compete documents for all employees. The background check takes 3-5 days.
